Symphony of Scents at Ikona
An Evening Dedicated to the Art of Fine Fragrance
Just as music is composed of individual notes that blend into a harmonious whole, so too are perfumes—meticulously crafted from layers of scent, each playing its own role in an olfactory composition. Perfumers, often referred to as noses, are true artists and chemists. They blend rare ingredients in precise proportions, creating signature formulas that remain closely guarded secrets.
At Ikona, located at Mestni trg 24 in Ljubljana, we recently stepped into a world few truly know—a world of niche perfumery, where fragrances are not mass-produced, but curated like works of art. Many of my clients have expressed frustration with commercial perfumes: top notes that are too sharp, synthetic undertones, or scents that vanish before they can evolve. Niche perfumes offer a completely different experience.
These high-quality fragrances contain a rich concentration of natural essences and evolve gradually, revealing their complexity over time. During our event, we had the pleasure of experiencing perfumes from Amouage, Eight & Bob, Nassomatto, Juliette Has A Gun, and Comme des Garçons—with a special surprise in the form of a newly arrived collection by Histoires de Parfums.

An Evening to Remember
As we explored these luxurious fragrances, we also sampled sparkling wine, elegant desserts, and enjoyed a beautifully curated pre-New Year’s atmosphere. We attempted to identify signature essences such as musk, amber, patchouli, vetiver, bergamot, and sandalwood—each a note in the grand symphony of scent.
