The\u00a0stealth luxe<\/em> (or quiet luxury) trend describes a refined, understated style of luxury fashion\u2014more about subtle elegance than loud opulence. As\u00a0New York Times<\/em> fashion editor Vanessa Friedman noted, even at Milan Fashion Week there was a shift \u201cfrom clothes that shout to those that whisper.\u201d This trend is defined by high-quality materials, minimalist silhouettes, an emphasis on craftsmanship (often partly handmade), and meticulous attention to detail. Garments are free from visible logos.<\/p>\n

In contrast to luxury fashion that, in recent years, has often relied on large, highly recognisable logos and brand names,\u00a0stealth luxe<\/em>\u00a0values subtlety and restraint. Pieces are typically simple and classic, with clean lines and neutral colours\u2014clothing that can be worn for years.<\/p>\n

Quality and Visual Identity<\/span><\/h3>\n

To me,\u00a0stealth luxe<\/em>\u00a0is about seeking quality and building a personal visual identity. The goal should be finding the best for\u00a0you<\/em>. You can be loyal to a brand whose philosophy aligns with your own, but it should serve you\u2014not the other way around.<\/p>\n

This trend is still emerging in our region. I\u2019ve been advocating for an understanding of quality for 25 years, and my clients are thoughtful about their choices. Together, we work on building a consistent visual identity.<\/p>\n

Wearing large, visible brand logos often signals a desire to belong to a certain group\u2014usually one we aren\u2019t truly part of. It can suggest belonging only to a group of people who\u00a0wish<\/em>\u00a0to be seen as wealthy, famous, or influential.<\/p>\n

Clothing with oversized brand logos is often less well-made, with less attention to sewing and design. When a person\u2019s wardrobe revolves around displaying a logo, the brand becomes the identity, rather than the individual. In my view, this is not the right path.<\/p>\n

These individuals enjoy cultural pursuits such as opera, ballet, art galleries, museums, and classical music concerts. They value tradition and heritage and may be engaged in philanthropy or community work. Leisure activities often include golf, tennis, or sailing.<\/p>\n

Those embracing the\u00a0old money<\/em>\u00a0style are typically discreet in manner, avoiding overt displays of wealth. They focus on\u00a0quality, durability, and sustainability<\/strong>\u00a0rather than seasonal trends.<\/p>\n

How to Build an Image in Line with These Trends<\/span><\/h3>\n

  1. Choose neutral colours:<\/strong>black, beige, navy, ivory. These are timeless and easy to mix and match.<\/li>\n
  2. Wear classic pieces:<\/strong>blazers, skirts, high-quality dresses, cardigans, collared shirts, chino trousers.<\/li>\n
